Emirati Abdullah Al-Ariani hunts for "gold" in Tokyo (photos)

Today, the golden shooter Abdullah Sultan Al-Ariani won the gold medal in the 50-meter air rifle shooting (Siktun 3 modes), to give the UAE its first medal at the "Tokyo 2020" Paralympic Games, currently held in the Japanese capital until the fifth of this September, and the fifth historically for the Emirati sports of people of determination. In the history of Paralympic participation since the first gold in Athens 2004, and the 21 colored in total medals (5 gold, 10 silver, and 6 bronze) since the Sydney silver in 2000.

Al-Ariani's gold came to raise the UAE's yield in "Tokyo 2020" to the second colored medal, after Mohammed Al-Qayed's bronze in the 100-meter race for a wheelchair track. For his fifth colored medal, after he crowned Rio de Janeiro 2016 with three silver medals.


Al-Ariani also became the second state athlete of people of determination to win his second gold medal in the Paralympic Games, after the gold medalist Muhammad Khamis, who won the gold in powerlifting in Athens 2004 in the weight of 97 kilograms, followed by the gold in Rio de Janeiro 2016 in the weight of 88 kilograms.


Basma Al-Ariani won the fifth gold title in Tokyo 2020, after the fourth medal came through champion Mohamed Al-Qayed by winning the 800m wheelchair race at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games.
