Bad times for Olivier Giroud.

Absent from Didier Deschamps' list with the Blues for the first time since Mathusalem, the French striker tested positive for Covid-19, announced his club, AC Milan.

“Local health authorities have been notified.

The player is doing well but must remain in isolation, ”said AC Milan in a statement, without specifying the duration of Giroud's unavailability.

The Rossonero club specifies that "Olivier has not been in contact with the rest of the team since the league match against Cagliari" last Sunday (4-1), which saw the former Montpellier striker, Arsenal and Chelsea score a brace on their debut at San Siro.

Ibra close to return

Giroud seems uncertain for the next match of the Milanese against Lazio Rome on September 12 (3rd day of Serie A).

The Rossoneri could however find on the occasion of this meeting "Ibra", operated in June on a knee and who has resumed collective training for a few days.
