The Moroccan team scored a valuable victory against its Sudanese guest, and the Algerian team sent a strong message to its rivals, after it swept its guest Djibouti 8-0 Thursday at the start of the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

At Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, Morocco achieved the most important opening match in Group I.

The first goal of the Moroccan team was scored by Nayef Akrad in the tenth minute, and the second goal was scored by the Sudanese team player Abu Ajla in the 53rd minute of the match.

The group matches started on Wednesday, when the Guinea-Bissau and Guinea tied 1-1, and the Moroccan team will face its Guinean host next Monday in the second round of the group, while the Sudanese team will host its counterpart Guinea-Bissau one day later.

The players of the Algerian national team (African Champions) installed the circus for the Djibouti team, which played with 10 players, starting from the 23rd minute, after its defender Youssef Patio Mohamed was sent off, while Islam Slimani played the championship role in the meeting after scoring 4 goals in the fifth and 25 minutes from a penalty kick and the 46th and 53rd.

Ramy Ben Sabaini, Baghdad Bounedjah, Riyad Mahrez and Ramez Zerrougui took turns scoring the other four goals for Algeria in the 26th and 40th minutes from a penalty kick, 67th and 69th.

Algeria, who is seeking to appear again in the World Cup after failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, topped Group A with 3 points, with a goal difference over its closest rivals, Burkina Faso, who defeated Niger 2-0.
