Sweden impressed in the European Championships and went all the way to the quarterfinals - but there it stopped.

It was an outing against the Netherlands after a loss in three straight sets - despite a good start, where the blue and yellows were close to taking the first set.

But then it got too tough.

- The Netherlands is pushing Sweden extremely hard with its serve today and that means that Sweden is not keeping up, says SVT's expert Andréa Jacobsson.

"Undivided joy"

An exit from a championship is obviously heavy, says Jacobsson, but she thinks that the players will take a lot of positive things with them.

- Disappointment is understood right now in Sweden, but I think that when they look back on this, it is with undivided joy.

- You knew in advance what a difficult opponent this was.

They will be depressed for a while, but pretty soon it will turn around.

"Invited us"

The achievements have led many to raise their eyebrows, broaden their smiles - and follow the team closely.

- They have really invited us to take part in the journey they have been on.

Sweden is now in the top eight in Europe and has thus secured a place for the European Championships 2023.

- It means a lot what the girls have done.

Hopefully, many younger girls and boys have watched and felt that this is something I want to try.
