Happiness and relief were palpable when parents Mats Jönsson and Ann-Christine Jönsson stood with their son Philip Jönsson, who had just won gold in shooting.

- It is a great relief that it finally worked out.

We have strived for the shooter to last during an entire final, says Mats Jönsson to SVT Sport.

Dad Mats is also a coach and was also on the shooting range, because he is involved and reloads the shots for Philip.

He believes that it is very hard work that has finally paid off.

- Those closest to us know how much we work with shooting and with the disease.

We can not train like everyone else, but we run three to four sessions a week as a maximum.

And to still be able to deliver, that means a hell of a lot, in pure Swedish, he says.

Mother Ann-Christine was nervous but the nerves then released when the medal was secured.

- When I knew it would be a medal, it was such a relief.

I know how much this means to him and it is absolutely fantastic, she says.
