French defender Kurt Zouma has moved from Chelsea to his London neighbor West Ham United, according to what the latter announced, the day before yesterday, in a deal estimated by the media at 25 million pounds.

The 26-year-old signed a four-year contract, leaving the team he reached in 2014 and crowned him with the English Premier League titles in 2015 and 2017, the League Cup in 2015, the Champions League last season, and the European Super Cup this summer.

"I am very happy and proud," Zuma told his new team's television, revealing: "The negotiations with the Scottish coach, David Moyes, were very fast.

I felt that he really wanted me to join the team.”

The Frenchman considered that he is joining a "good team that started the season in a very good way."

West Ham leads the Premier League standings temporarily with seven points from three games, but it suffered defensively after conceding five nets, the last of which was two goals in a 2-2 draw with other neighbor Crystal Palace.

Moyes welcomed Zuma to his team, saying: “He's a player I've been following for a while.

We were keen to seal the deal.

He was always our first choice and I am very happy that he is now our player.”

West Ham will be the fourth English adventure of the former Saint-Etienne player, as he previously also defended the colors of Stoke City and Everton on loan from Chelsea, who also loaned him in 2014 to his footballing debut, Saint-Etienne.
