Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) clinched his fifth victory of the MotoGP season at the British Grand Prix on Sunday, extending his lead in the world championship to 65 points.

Starting second on the starting grid behind Pol Espargaro, the Niçois took the lead with 16 laps to go and never let go.

Spaniards Alex Rins (Suzuki) and Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia) finish second and third.

The latter offers the Italian brand its first podium since its return to the category in 2015. The other Frenchman Johann Zarco (Ducati-Pramac) is eleventh.
