A large group was gathered when Halfvarsson was offensive and in the lead before the second lap after 32 kilometers around the falls in Trollhättan.
- I was going to pull hard on the second lap and all of a sudden I got a pain in my hand, it was completely new and I had a hard time staking.
I skipped so that it would not be anything long drawn out.
It felt good otherwise, I felt strong, says Halfvarsson who forgot to put on the chip and did not get any intervals reported.
- A lot went wrong but the thing with the chip has never happened before and it is better that it happened now than later in the season, he says.

Max Novak showed just like in Norway recently that he is very strong and won the race after a jerk the last mile.
He could parade in goal and have the cluster at a proper distance.
