The gold champion in powerlifting, Muhammad Khamis Khalaf, will launch his first participation in the 16th Paralympic Games, currently being hosted by the Japanese capital, Tokyo, until September 5, with the participation of 4,400 athletes, from 162 countries. Asian Paralympic Games looking to host Kazakhstan for the Winter Games
The President of the Asian Paralympic Committee, Majed Al-Osaimi, met with delegations of some Asian countries, on the sidelines of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
Al-Osaimi said: The discussions will take a more serious turn, when we meet with members of the Kazakhstan government, to study the country's hosting of the first Winter Games for People of Determination.
The President of the Asian Paralympic Committee indicated that another meeting was held with the President of the Taiwan Paralympic Committee, who praised during the meeting the role of the UAE in supporting the Asian Paralympic movement, and confirmed its follow-up to the UAE Red Crescent Agreement, and the initiatives and efforts of the state in supporting and empowering people of determination. Upcoming projects, especially that Taiwan will host the International Paralympic Committee elections next December.
Al-Osaimi also met with the delegation of the Indian Paralympic Committee, where India's efforts to develop and support the sport of people of determination won the praise of the Asian Paralympic Committee.
