The crimes - which the player is suspected of - must have been committed between October 2020 and August 2021, British police write.
It is further written that the player has been arrested and is expected to appear in court tomorrow Friday.
The player, who belongs to a major club in the Premier League, has now been suspended from the club.
"This is a legal process and the club can therefore not leave any further comments until that process is completed," the Premier League club wrote.
