The first round match in the DFB Cup was nothing more than a casual training session for Bayern Munich.

Nevertheless, the 12-0 (5-0) success at the fifth division team Bremer SV brought the new Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann some important insights before the Champions League really kicked off after the international break for the record champions and cup winners.

On the one hand there is Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting: A Robert Lewandowski cannot be replaced, everyone in Munich knows that.

But nobody has to have a real stomach ache at Bayern should the Polish striker fail.

Because in Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting Bayern have a loyal and no less accurate substitute.

The 32-year-old attacker met four times on Wednesday evening.

“That's fine,” Nagelsmann praised the striker after his cup debut as Bayern coach.

Lewandowski, like national goalkeepers Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka, remained entirely in Munich.

On the other hand there is Leroy Sané: After the whistles of his own fans in the home win against 1. FC Köln on Sunday, the weak national player was able to regain a little self-confidence in Bremen.

Sané had to wait more than an hour for his own goal, but then got his sense of achievement.

Now the winger hopes that he will also be nominated by the new national coach Hansi Flick on Friday.

“He did it well,” Nagelsmann praised the attacker.

And last but not least, there are the many talents in the ranks of the Munich team: It was partly a young gang that Nagelsmann had sent on the field in the second half.

But the youngsters took their chance.

19-year-old Malik Tillmann scored 6-0 immediately after being substituted on, and the rest also knew how to please. Young star Jamal Musiala shone with two hits for over an hour. Omar Richards, who came from Reading FC, made his competitive debut for Bayern, but was hardly challenged by the amateurs on the left side of the defense.
