Basel had 3-1 to go on before the return match with Hammarby in the Conference League qualifiers.

In the rain at Tele2 arena, Icelander Jon Gudni Fjoluson stepped forward and made sure to arrange an extension.

He made it 1-0 in the 48th minute on the nick.

Six minutes later, he increased to 2-0 on a long shot with the left that touched a Basel player and set the goalkeeper.

By extension, Aziz Ouattara gave Mohammed Hammarby the lead.

The 19-year-old kept close to goal and was played nicely by Astrit Selmani and was able to roll the ball into the open goal in the 101st minute.

But Basel reduced the penalty in the 109th minute and took the qualifier to penalties.

Hammarby fell there after the brass Arthur decided in the fifth round.

The loss means that Hammarby misses the group game in the Conference League and that the club loses a million rains.

A place in the group stage gives at least around SEK 30 million in payment from Uefa (European Football Association).
