Frölunda has dominated the CHL since the beginning of the tournament in 2014. In seven years, the club has played five finals and taken home the tournament on four occasions.

Now they are aiming for the fifth title.

The premiere against Czech Mladá Boleslav also got off to a promising start.

After a choppy start with a series of expulsions in the first period, the Czechs were punched in the ninth minute.

Frölunda created pressure in the offensive zone and got the puck up in the back position.

From there, Nicklas Lasu fired a shot that Theodor Niederbach, 19, steered in.

"Got the start they wanted"

Before the first period was over, they led 3-0, after goals from Joel Lundqvist and Patrik Carlsson.

Frölunda eventually won 4-1 after a late consolation goal from the Czechs, and has thus got a flying start in the CHL group game.
