Calle Halfvarsson has three championship medals and three individual World Cup wins.

He is also painted as an extreme raw talent.

But now he has reached the age of 32 and in recent seasons he has not achieved what he hoped for.

Patience is starting to run out for Halfvarsson.

- I can not bear to hold on for any length of time and rub on if I do not get any results, he says to SVT Sport before the roller ski competitions in Trollhättan.

In order for last year's season not to be repeated, Halfvarsson has reduced the amount of training a bit and in principle abandoned strength training completely.

Right now he has motivation.

- I still think it's fun.

It's just as well to keep going.

As long as I think it's fun and that I have a chance to get back to the top, I will continue.

The day I do not feel it, I will probably put the skis on the shelf.

Have you been close to quitting?

- No, I would not say close that it has been.

But I have to start performing and get paid for all the time I put in.

But I have a hard time giving up, and that is a positive thing.

Somewhere it will also be an economic issue.

If you do not perform, there will be no sponsors and then you can not continue.

If we are to focus more on the positive then, how positive can this season be?

-

I hope it will be as positive as it can only be. I spend all my time training and invest one hundred percent in the Olympics. I always hope that it will be one hundred percent, but I will probably have adversity anyway. You have to reckon with that.
