It will be done without the Stéphanois.

In a decree issued on Wednesday, the Interior Ministry prohibits any travel by ASSE supporters during the match between the Greens and OM at the Vélodrome this Saturday.

This decree of the Ministry of the Interior, published this Thursday in the Official Journal, specifies that "from zero hour to midnight, the individual or collective movement, by any means, of any person availing himself of the quality of supporter of the Sports Association of Saint-Etienne or behaving as such, is prohibited ”between the municipalities of nine departments and the city of Marseille.

"A real and serious risk of confrontation between the supporters"

These departments are "Loire, Isère, Drôme, Rhône, Ardèche, Haute-Loire, Puy-de-Dôme, Allier, and Saône-et-Loire".

The ministry believes that "a real and serious risk of confrontation between the supporters of the two clubs exists on the occasion of the meeting which will oppose the two teams on Saturday August 28, 2021 at 9 pm at the Orange Vélodrome stadium in Marseille".

“Relations between the supporters of ASSE and OM are imbued with animosity (…) this strong antagonism has resulted in serious clashes requiring the intervention of the police, some of whose members were injured , by jets of projectiles and by the ignition of pyrotechnic devices ”, indicates the decree, recalling a series of incidents that have occurred since 2018.
