In the women’s track cycling women’s 3km individual pursuit C1-3 qualifying round that morning, Chinese players Qian Wangwei, Zeng Sini and Wang Xiaomei broke the world records of C1, C2 and C3 respectively.

  In the C1 qualifying round, Qian Wangwei broke the world record with a time of 4:31.476.

In the C2 qualifying competition, Zeng Sini broke the world record with a time of 4:06.263.

In the C3 qualifying competition, Wang Xiaomei broke the world record with a time of 3:55.781.

Although the record she created was subsequently refreshed by Australian players, Wang Xiaomei still advanced to the gold medal game with a second place.
