The Rugby Paper

, it is beIN Sports who announced it: Cheslin Kolbe (27) should no longer wear the colors of the Stade Toulousain.

The spectacular South African winger (and occasionally fullback) is due to join Toulon for the next three seasons.

Star of the Top 14 since his arrival at Ernest-Wallon in 2017, Kolbe played a big role in the return to the top of Toulouse, symbolized by the title of champion in 2019 then by the double Shield of Brennus - European Cup during the past season.

This arrival would allow the Var club now led by Bernard Lemaitre to reconnect with the flashy recruitment of the Boudjellal years.

Asked this Wednesday by

L'Equipe

, the president of the RCT confirmed negotiations with Toulouse, but not yet an agreement.

Toulouse and the Jaminet slope

The 2019 world champion Springboks zebulon is under contract with Stade Toulousain until June 2023. His departure, necessarily penalizing sportingly, would however allow the Haut-Garonnais to receive compensation snacks and save a large salary.

Before, possibly, to embark on the track Melvyn Jaminet, rear of Perpignan and revelation of the XV of France during the summer tour in Australia.

Anyway, Kolbe will not play in the Top 14 again before December, between his international obligations (Rugby Championship then November test-matches) interspersed with statutory holidays.

This reduced availability undoubtedly weighs heavily in the balance to encourage Toulouse to accept the Toulon offer.
