For years, the “musical chairs” game has been ruling the European football leagues’ rankings, with the Italian, Spanish and Italian leagues rotating at the top.

In the nineties of the last century, "Calcio" was ranked the strongest and his teams were controlling the continental titles, then it was the turn of the League to sit at the top of the classification and sweep its giants Barcelona and Real with European and international titles.

Years ago, the Premier League grabbed the first place, presenting itself as the strongest and most expensive, and its teams have become "spherical monsters" devouring continental titles.

However, it is noteworthy in the European Football Association (UEFA) classification that the French League fell from fifth to sixth place, and the Portuguese took its place.

According to the official UEFA website, the top six places were as follows:

  • Premier League: 87,926 points

  • La Liga: 80,570 points

  • Serie A: 63,616 points

  • German Bundesliga: 61,427 points

  • Portuguese League: 44,216 points

  • French League: 43,498 points
