Cho Won-sang of the Korean Paralympic Swimming Team reached the final in the 100m butterfly, the first race of the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games.



In the men's 100m butterfly qualifying group 2 match held at 9:59 am today (25th) at 9:59 am at the Tokyo Aquatic Center, Japan, the Cho Won-sang finished 3rd at 58.37, and climbed to 8th out of 19 players and advanced to the top 8. Good deeds confirmed.



Cho Won-sang will challenge to win a medal in the men's 100m butterfly final, which will be held at 6:05 pm today.



In-guk Lee, the 100m backstroke gold medalist at the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games, played in the 3rd and 5th lane, but failed to advance to the final due to disqualification (DSQ).



Lee In-guk placed 7th in the group (58.91 seconds), but was disqualified according to the judgment that he touched with one hand instead of two during the turn.



Kang Jeong-eun, the only female swimmer to compete in Korean swimming, finished fourth in group 2 in the 100m butterfly qualifying round with a time of 1:11.36.



However, out of 15 players, he placed 9th, and unfortunately did not advance to the final, where the top 8 players advance.



A total of 5 swimmers will participate in the swimming event at the Tokyo Paralympic Games, including 'Rio 3 gold medalist' Jo Ki-seong (S4), Kang Jeong-eun (S14), Lee In-guk (S14), Lee Joo-young (S14), and Jo Won-sang (S14).



There are three categories of swimming events: S for freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, SB for breaststroke, and SM for individual medley.



Numbers next to the alphabet indicate the type and degree of disability, with 1-10 indicating physical disability, 11-13 visual impairment, and 14 intellectual disability.
