National team manager Anders Byström does not want to comment on Sundling's absence, but writes this in an SMS to SVT Sport:

"No drama, everything calm."

It is already clear that Linn Svahn and Frida Karlsson will refrain from the competitions.

Sundling - who won World Cup gold in sprint and sprint relay last winter - has been disrupted by a cold and gave up the national team camp in Torsby earlier in August.

The competitions in Trollhättan start on Thursday and large parts of the elite are in place.

On the women's side, Charlotte Kalla, Ebba Andersson and Maja Dahlqvist drive, among others.

On the men's side, Petter Northug, among others, will compete in the 48-kilometer Alliance race on Saturday and will compete against Swedish skiers such as Oskar Svensson, William Poromaa and the long-distance skier Max Novak.
