Hammarby IF had its annual meeting on Tuesday where a number of motions were voted on - including Anschutz Entertainment Groups (AEG) and Zlatan Ibrahimovic's shareholding in the Allsvenskan club.

AEG owns 47 percent of the shareholding in Hammarby, where Ibrahimovic in turn owns half of AEG's shares in Hammarby.

A member submitted a motion under the heading "AEG's shares in Hammarby Fotboll AB" where the member made two requests:

+ "Take a stand for the principle that Hammarby should be a 100 percent member-owned association."

+ "Explore the financial opportunities to buy back AEG's (and other possible minority owners') shares in Hammarby Fotboll AB."

The board replied that it is "friendly to the approach in the motion" and that "the association is already working in the direction you request."

“As was extensively discussed at the previous annual meeting, it is otherwise none other than the association's members who ultimately decide on any part of Hammarby Fotboll already as it is, especially refers to Hammarby Fotboll AB in which AEG has had an ownership interest for many years now.

The 51 percent rule guarantees that.

From a purely power perspective, the association has power over the business just as it has always been ", writes the board.

At the annual meeting, the motion was thus voted through and now the possibility of buying out AEG and Zlatan will be examined.

It was in November 2018 that it became known that Ibrahimovic was a new major in Hammarby.

He alone owns a quarter of the club.

"I will help Hammarby to become the best in Scandinavia," he told Aftonbladet.
