Real Madrid extends Valverde's contract until 2027

Real Madrid announced today, Tuesday, the extension of Federico Valverde's contract until June 2027.

It is noteworthy that the main contract of Valverde, 23, was supposed to expire in 2025, but he extended his contract for two additional years, and press reports stated that the contract includes one billion euros as a penalty clause.

A report published by the club on its website today, Tuesday, stated: "Federico Valverde has signed a renewal of his contract with Real Madrid. The Uruguayan midfielder will remain linked to the club until June 30, 2027."

Valverde joined Madrid from Uruguayan club Penarol in July 2016, and initially played for the club's reserve team.

Valverde played for Deportivo La Corna on loan in the 2017/2018 season before securing a key seat in Real's first team under the leadership of Santi Solari.

Valverde won the league title in the 2019/2020 season under the leadership of French Zinedine Zidane, and participated in 21 games since the beginning.

Last season, he participated in 24 matches with Real in the league and scored three goals.

Valverde became the latest player to agree to renew his contract with Real Madrid, since Carlo Ancelotti took over the team last June.

Luka Modric, Nacho Fernandez, Karim Benzema, Dani Carvajal and Thibaut Courtois had recently extended their contracts with Real.
