Tilde Johansson, 20, emerged early as a giant talent in long jump.

But lately, the development has stopped - much due to an injured meniscus.

She has been rehabilitating since the beginning of July, but has now decided to have surgery.

- I did six weeks of rehab in an attempt to get the meniscus to heal so much by itself, but it has not gone so well.

I made the decision five days ago, she says.

How long she will be gone after the operation is unclear.

It can be anywhere from ten weeks to six months.

- I feel that it is better to be mentally prepared for six months.

Rather that you are pleasantly surprised, it will increase motivation.

But of course it will be a difficult time, but it is good to get it over with and get the process started.

Johansson missed the U23 European Championships due to a knee injury.
