Olympique de Marseille continues to downsize its workforce.

OM's Serbian striker Nemanja Radonjic will join Benfica Lisbon on loan this season, the Portuguese club announced.

Benfica reached an agreement with Marseille "for the transfer, as a player on loan, of Nemanja Radonjic, who signed a contract until June 2022", said the club in a statement published on its website in the night from Sunday to Monday.

The presentation of the 25-year-old Serbian international, who was loaned last winter to Hertha Berlin, "will be made soon," added the club without further details.

According to Portuguese media, the agreement could be accompanied by a purchase option of around 7 million euros.

After passing medical tests on Sunday, the player is expected to train from Monday with the rest of the Lisbon team, according to sports daily A Bola.
