Elaine Thompson won the Tokyo Olympics women's 100m in track and field with a new Olympic record of 10 seconds 61. .



Thompson was overwhelming in the Diamond League 100m final, which drew attention as a match against American rising star Richardson, who returned from punishment for banned substances.



Thompson was the first to cut the final tape after a head-to-head fight against his 35-year-old mother, sprinter Fraser Price.



Thompson, who looked at the billboard with a calm expression, was surprised and cheered when he saw his personal best of 10 seconds 54.



Thompson became the second female athlete in 33 years to break the 10.6 barrier in 33 years, closing the world record set by Griffith Joyner in 1988 by 0.05 seconds.
