The American sprint star, Sha'Carri Richardson, was suspended during the Tokyo Olympics due to doping.
When the Diamond League was in place in the USA on Saturday, the 21-year-old made a comeback and would challenge the world elite again in the 100 meters.
But he who had hoped for an even battle for victory was surely disappointed.
Instead, the audience got to see the Jamaican, Elaine Thompson-Herah, run into the super time of 10.54 - the second fastest of all time.
This at the same time as Richardson finished clearly last in the race.
"Is here to stay"
Afterwards, the TV pictures captured the American as she quickly left the running track and shook her head in disappointment.
A moment later, she came out again for an interview with NBC - but did not seem to have calmed her emotions.
- This was
a
race, I'm not done and you know what I'm capable of.
Count me out if you want, talk all the shit you want, because I'm here to stay.
I'm not done and I'm the sixth fastest woman of all time and no one can ever take that away from me, Richardson said.
Thompson-Herah won in 10.54 while Richardson after a weak race finished last in the more modest time of 11.14.
