In response to the fact that the summer national high school baseball schedule held at Koshien Stadium has been postponed due to rain, the Takano Ren = Japan High School Baseball Federation and others are targeting team members as a countermeasure against infection with the new coronavirus. We decided to increase the number of PCR tests, which was supposed to be up to 3 times, to 4 times.

Since the start of the summer national high school baseball championship was originally scheduled for 9th of this month, the number of days the game has been postponed is 7 days, which is the largest number in history, and the schedule has been extended. Some teams are free for 10 days.

At first, Takano Ren and others planned to carry out PCR tests for team members as a countermeasure against infection, in addition to before the tournament, and if they win, up to three times after the first match and the quarterfinals. For the 17 schools that appeared in the round, we decided to perform additional PCR tests after the second round.

Depending on the team, you will be tested up to 4 times.

In this tournament, PCR tests before the tournament confirmed that two members were positive at Sakushin Gakuin in Tochigi, and after entering the tournament, athletes and others were infected with the new coronavirus at Miyazaki Commercial Senior High School and Tohoku Gakuin in Miyagi. Two schools declined to participate.
