After the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, reports have confirmed that one of the people who died while climbing outside a U.S. transport plane to escape the capital Kabul was identified as a player of the Afghan national football team.



Citing Afghanistan's Ariana News Agency, Reuters reported yesterday (19th) that Afghan national football team player Jaki Anwari fell from a U.S. C-17 transport plane that took off from Kabul Airport on the 16th and died yesterday (19th).



Ariana added that the Afghan Sports Authority has confirmed this.



When the Islamic militant group Taliban quickly took control of the Afghan capital, Kabul, the airport went into chaos as crowds rushed out of Kabul.
