It was at 03.00 last night that the club's operations manager received an alarm about the flood in the arena.

- We had 1.5 meters of water everywhere.

And our newly laid ice, since last Friday, was completely covered by a brown, muddy water, says Pernilla Dalborg, Brynäs' acting club director, to SVT Sport.

- Juniors, men's and women's players, coaches at all levels and people in the office have been down and swept and swabbed.

Economic concerns

Dalborg says that it is not only the ice in the A-hall that has been destroyed, but that the entire sports activity has been affected.

The bodies of water also reached the gym, changing rooms and storage.

The damage is extensive and operations have been suspended for the time being.

- It is difficult to get an overview of the material damage, but I would say that it is quite extensive on the damage front.

This applies to everything from facilities to materials.

Is there any concern that this will affect you financially?

- Yes, it always does when it comes to insurance matters, but we hope that most things will be covered by insurance.

We do not even dare to think of anything else.

Brynäs men's team will meet AIK in a training match tomorrow but it will not be affected because it will be played in Hofors.

Thank the environment for the support

However, junior matches are canceled because only one hall, the B-hall that has not been damaged, is available.

There is now the idea that the team should train.

Brynäs has also been offered to use ice rinks and gyms in Söderhamn and Hofors.

- The surroundings have been incredibly generous.

Söderhamn and Hofors have heard from us and said that we can use their facilities.

It is admirable and wonderful to hear that it is so, that you want to help.

Both SDHL and SHL start in September.

Brynäs ladies start the season at home with a match against Luleå 11/9.

- Our premiere should not be in danger, says Dalborg.

The men start the SHL on away ice but meet in the second round Timrå at home on 16/9.
