Julian Nagelsmann can breathe a bit.

Already under pressure before his first final with Bayern Munich because of a catastrophic preseason and a draw in the opening of the Bundesliga against Borussia Monchengladbach, the young coach is already holding his first title with the Bavarian club: the Supercopa d 'Germany.

His players overcame the rival Borussia Dortmund (3-1) thanks, of course, to Robert Lewandowski.

Who else?

At Signal Iduna Park, home of the Yellows and Blacks, the match began with a tribute to the legend of the Bavarians and the Mannschaft Gerd Müller, who died on Sunday.

His namesake Thomas Müller brandished the “der bomber” jersey in the central circle, ahead of kick-off, to the applause of the 25,000 spectators authorized by the sanitary gauge.

Bayern folded the game around half-time

Once launched, this "klassiker" bore the mark of his distant successor at Bayern Munich: Robert Lewandowski.

By resuming with an angry head a cross from Serge Gnabry (41st), the Bayern striker allowed his to really get into the match.

The Polish striker confirms his sparkling form: by scoring 41 goals in just 29 games last season, he broke the record for goals scored in a season previously set by… Gerd Müller.

The Bavarians then made the difference at a second key moment of the meeting: from the start of the second period, the indestructible Thomas Müller took back a ball that the Pole had missed (50th).

Lewandowski, 24 goals in 24 games against his ex

Marco Reus, for a time, gave hope to the yellow and black people with a splendid strike (64th) in the top corner, before Lewandowski completed his recital (74th), after a pass from Manuel Akanji intercepted by Corentin Tolisso.

“It means a lot to me.

It must have been a really cool game for the fans to watch, ”said the Polish striker after the game.

The 32-year-old striker has now scored 24 goals in as many games against his former club, to which he played from 2010 to 2014. At this level, we can speak of ingratitude.
