Nine people tested positive for the new corona in connection with the Tokyo Paralympics, which will start on the 24th next week, announced by the Games Organizing Committee on the 17th.



Eight of them are contractors for the tournament residing in Japan, and the remaining one is a tournament official who has entered Japan from overseas and has passed the quarantine period of 14 days after coming to Japan.



On the other hand, there were no cases of new infections found in people related to the Tokyo Olympics, which had already closed, or in overseas personnel within 14 days of returning from Japan.



As a result, the total number of infected people in Japan and overseas announced by the Organizing Committee from the 1st of last month is 540 for the Olympic Games and 40 for the Paralympics, for a total of 580 people.
