Galatasaray club's first match in the Turkish league this season witnessed a strange event when the Brazilian player Marcos Teixeira was sent off for assaulting his teammate.

Galatasaray defeated its host Giresunspor, with a clean double, at the end of the first round of the Turkish League.

Texira attacked his colleague with a head kick, and punched him in front of everyone's stares and astonishment.

The players intervened to break up the quarrel, before the referee showed the red card in the face of Taksiera, and expelled him from the field.

The goals of the match were scored by Senegalese Mbaye Diane in the 31st minute, and Romanian Alexandro Cicaldo from the penalty mark in the last moments of the first half.

With this victory, Galatasaray placed itself among the top teams with 3 points, inflicting its opponent, Gersonspor, the first loss in the new season in the Premier League.
