A Brazilian player "butts" his Turkish colleague and punches him twice.. (Video)

It was announced today, Tuesday, that the Brazilian Marcao, the defender of the Turkish club Galatasaray, may face a long-term ban after assaulting his colleague Karim Akturkoglu during the team’s match against Giresunspor on Monday in the Turkish League.

The center of the Brazilian defense, Marcao, attacked his colleague Akturkoglu in the second half of the match, when Galatasaray was leading 2-0, a result that ended the match.

Marcao headbutted his international partner, Turkish international Akturkoglu, 22, and then punched him with two punches. Marcao got a red card after the referee resorted to the video assistant referee system (VAR), and the player may face a 10-match ban.

After the match, Galatasaray coach Fatih Tarim said: "The club will do what is necessary, in its own way...Marcao will apologize to Karim and the entire team for this behaviour."
