Al-Mutaiwee told "Emirates Today": "Although, last June, I received confirmation of qualification for (Tokyo 2020), my firm belief in becoming the first Emirati rider of determination to participate in the Paralympic Games was behind the motivation, since the beginning of 2021, in Intensifying the training doses, including my recent participation in three camps, two of which are external, and a third in the Emirates, with the aim of achieving the required readiness.

He explained: “Since I underwent a long treatment campaign in 1997, and performed 32 surgeries between America and Germany, before the decision was made to amputate my leg in 1998, and to rely on prosthetic limbs, I am determined to return the favor to this generous country, through the sports portal, And riding the bicycle with one leg, which led me in 2017 to obtain the world ranking in the (MC2) category during my participation in the World Cup in Italy, which was followed by several achievements in both Europe and Asia, and won 20 colorful medals, before I finally succeeded in achieving a dream Qualifying by becoming the first Emirati rider of determination to participate in the Paralympic Games.”

He added: "Having the honor of winning the His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Sports Creativity in 2019, which was followed in the same year by receiving the honor of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, for sports achievements, represented a strong incentive to continue participating and training. Towards ensuring the harvest of achievements, and ensuring the realization of the dream of qualifying for (Tokyo 2020), based on a high-level training device, whether my German coach, Robert Bauski, who has been following me since 2018 and developing training plans for me, or the coach of the Dubai Club for People of Determination, Muhammad Al-Marawi, who supervises My training in the club and the national team.

He continued, "My belief in my ability to qualify for Tokyo, prompted me to go to two external camps in Germany and Austria between June and July, during which I underwent daily training at a rate of six hours a day, before continuing since August 4th my training in the Emirates camp, with the aim of adapting in an atmosphere of Close to what I will be competing in in Japan in terms of temperature and humidity.”

He concluded: "My participation in (Tokyo) within the road race (79.8 km) and against the clock (24 km), through which I seek to compete for the podiums."

Al-Mutaiwee won 20 colored medals in races held in Asia and Europe since his first participation in 2017, with nine silvers and 11 bronze, most notably the 2018 European Cup silver and the Asian silver in Uzbekistan 2019.
