Lionnel Messi has barely set foot in Paris that the president of PSG already has new ideas for his club.

Qatari Nasser al-Khelaïfi now dreams of expanding the Parc des Princes.

He finds it a bit small for his taste for a team which keeps showing that it plays in the backyard of the big European clubs.

Paris Saint-Germain continues to dream bigger and bigger.

After welcoming the international star of Argentinian football Lionel Messi, the president of the Parisian club wants to be able to accommodate more supporters during the matches.

"We need to expand the stadium," said Nasser Al-Khelaïfi on Wednesday.

Are PSG supporters too cramped in the Parc des Princes?

"I really think we have a very small stadium," said Nasser Al-Khelaïfi on Wednesday.

For the president of the club, the size of the stadium, located to the south-west of the Parisian agglomeration, is no longer up to its ambitions.

"Each major club has 80,000 spectators today," continues the president of PSG.

"This is something very important for our future"

And all that's missing is the Champions League on PSG's record to assert its position as a great European football player.

On Wednesday, the club officially recruited one of the greatest soccer players in the world: Lionel Messi.

He joins international stars such as Sergio Ramos, Neymar or Kylian Mbappé.

And to see the best attack at work, you need a better stadium.

"I love the Parc des Princes, but we need to expand the stadium. This is something very important for our future and for our supporters," said Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.

For this, Qatari is counting on the support of the city of Paris. "With the mayor of Paris and her team, we have very good relations. I really thank Anne Hidalgo because she is still with us", continues Nasser Al-Khelaïfi. It remains to be seen whether his new wish will be granted.
