Al-Nasr and Al-Bataeh kick off the Futsal Cup tomorrow

Shehab Al-Awadi: “We have worked hard to ensure that the competitions in the new season continue for 10 months.”

Tomorrow, the Emirates Futsal Cup will start, which will continue until August 31, with two matches. The first will be played at five in the evening, Al-Nasr with Al-Bataeh, while at six in the evening the Al-Dhafra and Khorfakkan teams will meet.

The futsal season started with the Super Cup, which was won by Al Dhafra Club, after its victory over Al Nasr with two goals to one.

The Secretary-General of the Futsal Executive Committee, Shehab Al-Awadi, told "Emirates Today": "The committee is looking forward to an exceptional season that reveals the qualitative shift that futsal is experiencing in the country."

He added, "We have worked hard to keep the competitions in the new season for 10 months in order to reduce the negative rest period between the end and start of the competitions, but this was not possible due to the national teams' associations."

He added: "Nine competitions were approved instead of 10, including the Khorfakkan International Championship, which is held annually, so we apologized for the participation of the national futsal team in two tournaments, namely the Thailand Cup and the West Asian Cup 2022, in order not to burden the white futsal and its players with obligations."
