At the Tokyo Olympics, the women's volleyball team successfully advanced to the semi-finals and finished in an impressive 4th place, receiving a total of 400 million won in prize money from the Korea Volleyball Association and the Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO).

In this Olympic Games, our national team won the Dominican Republic and Japan after a full set match in the preliminary round, and defeated Turkey 3-2 in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals.

Following the semi-final match against Brazil, they also lost the bronze medal match against Serbia today (8th), and the Olympic medal dream for the first time in 45 years did not come true, but the fighting spirit of the athletes touched a hot heart.

The Volleyball Association and KOVO each set a reward of 200 million won.

The Volleyball Association said that before the national team went to Tokyo, they had already promised 'a reward of 100 million won for advancing to the quarterfinals', adding the previously set 4th place reward of 100 million won and the total bounty was 200 million won.

Chairman Oh Han-nam, who witnessed the national team's fighting spirit in Tokyo, said, "It is the result of all the players and coaching staff, as well as coach Stefano Lavarini and captain Kim Yeon-kyung, doing their best. I watched the game with a grateful heart."

KOVO also pays 100 million won in incentives to the women's national team in addition to the previously planned bounty.

KOVO initially set the gold medal 500 million won, silver medal 300 million won, bronze medal 200 million won, and fourth place 100 million won as Olympic prize money.

However, KOVO and the club agreed to pay an additional 100 million won to encourage the national team, which impressed the people by reaching the quarterfinals for the first time in nine years since the 2012 London Olympics.

The impression that the women's volleyball team has given cannot be measured in money, but the bounty is one of the ways to reward the team's hard work and fighting spirit.
