In the semi-finals of the Tokyo Olympics, the men's high diving, 14-year-old Rikuto Tamai finished in 8th place and decided to advance to the final.

The men's high diving will perform 6 times from a 10-meter-high platform, and will compete for the total score based on the beauty of the aerial posture and how much the spray was suppressed when entering the water.

From Japan, Tamai, a 14-year-old third-year junior high school student who won the 8th place in this event of the World Cup in May, entered the semi-finals.

In the third qualifying session, Tamai succeeded in the big move "109C", in which he held his knees that failed in qualifying and made somersaults in the front four and a half times, and finished the first half to finish in fifth place.

In the second half, there were scenes where the water splashed when entering the water, but with a total of 413.65 in the 6th inning, we finished in 8th place and advanced to the final where the top 12 players could participate.

This is the first time in 21 years for a Japanese player to advance to the final in this event since Ken Terauchi of the Sydney Olympics.

The men's high diving final will start at 3:00 pm.
