Against France, Sweden started well and had a lead of three balls after just over ten minutes played.

They managed to play fast and use the space between France's defense.

But the French worked their way back and managed to equalize to 7-7.

Towards the end of the first half, it became more careless in the Swedish defense, which France took advantage of and went up in the lead 11-10 thanks to a goal by Allison Pineau.

Jenny Carlson then stood for two straight goals and equalized for the Swedish part.

But in the final second, the white-clad France got the lead ball and Sweden went into the halftime break at a disadvantage of 15-14.

Linn Blohm expelled

Sweden got off to a good start in the second half.

Both Natahlie Hagman and Emma Lindqvist scored, which meant that Sweden had turned the match to 18-17.

With 20 minutes left in the match, Sweden lost Linn Blohm after she took on her third suspension.

Which meant she got to see the rest of the match from the bench.

The semifinal was even and everything was decided in the final minutes.

There, France picked up the pace and with it the goals.

Sweden then forced at the end but it was not enough all the way.

French victory with 29-27 and for Sweden now awaits a match for the Olympic bronze.

There they face the loser between Norway and the Russian team.
