Former French international Thierry Henry will join the team of football experts and consultants to animate Amazon Prime's new offer dedicated to the dissemination of Ligue 1, the American group announced on Wednesday in a press release.

The former player of Monaco, Juventus, Barcelona or Arsenal will be "the headliner of the broadcast of Ligue 1 on Prime Video", welcomes Amazon, two days before the start of the new season.

The American tech giant recovered in June the rights called into play by the Professional Football League (LFP), after the resounding bankruptcy of the subsidiary of the Sino-Spanish group Mediapro.

More than 300 matches will be broadcast per season on this new offer called "Le Pass Ligue 1" available for Amazon Prime subscribers against a supplement of 12.99 euros per month, an amount which will therefore be added to the basic subscription, from 5.99 euros per month or 49 euros per year.

Bodmer, Giuly, Cheyrou, Cissé, Hilton, Nivet ...

In addition to the former world champion, Amazon has enlisted the services of "former stars and coaches of the championship" such as Mathieu Bodmer, Ludovic Giuly, Corine Petit, Benoît Cheyrou, Edouard Cissé, Vitorino Hilton, Benjamin Nivet, Pascal Dupraz or Dominique Arribagé. Among the new recruits, journalist Karim Bennani, former Canal +, will present "the new Ligue 1 multiplex", every Sunday at 3pm.

“Each week, they will be the faces of our Ligue 1 Uber Eats broadcast on Prime Video and bring all of their expertise and passion for the game to subscribers.

This is only the beginning for us and we will seek to innovate throughout the season, ”assured Alex Green, general manager of Prime Video Sport for Europe, quoted in the press release.

Among the features offered to subscribers, the possibility "to choose to deactivate comments and enjoy the atmosphere of the stadium with the return of the public to the stands this season".
