It has not happened that Swedish show jumping had three riders out of six in a jump-off for the medals in an Olympic final.

Despite this, some of the reactions were gloomy after the dramatic dissolution on Wednesday.

Henrik von Eckermann was deeply disappointed that he missed the medal.

Baryard Johnsson had a hard time digesting that she was so close to her first individual championship medal.

- I suffer a little with my teammates, said Peder Fredricson, who was again sniffed at the gold by a very small margin.

In Rio de Janerio 2016, Nick Skelton was 53 percent faster.

At Baji Koen Stadium, Ben Maher took his Explosion over the finish line by 17 percent to Fredricson and All In.

New day, new competition

Maybe the optimal dividend will come on Saturday, in the team competition final, but first the jumping national team will pass Friday's qualifiers.

And it's the same trio that will fix it.

- We have three riders top-5 at an Olympics, I do not know if it has happened before.

It is clear that it feels great.

Then it's a whole new day, a whole new competition.

We have to zero in and have full focus on the team competition, says national team captain Henrik Ankarcrona.

The Swedish success in the individual competition cost the horses strength and energy.

- We must not forget that our horses have gone double rounds. That is a disadvantage, of course, but I think the horses are in very good shape and they get a day off. They will probably recover, says Baryard Johnsson.
