Amid the intense heat, many people visited the area around the venue where the Olympic Games are held every day for four days.

At the Olympic monument in front of the national stadium, about 100 people lined up for a commemorative photo on the 4th.

The visitors were holding parasols in the strong sunlight.

A man in his 70s said, "I came to feel the atmosphere of the Olympic Games, but the intense and scorching heat makes me very stuffy."

In addition, around the torch stand set up in the waterfront area, city volunteers distributed towels and uchiwa to the visitors to call attention to heat stroke.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, city volunteers use hat-type parasols and neck coolers with ice packs to prevent heat stroke in the harsh heat.

The 4th was particularly hot, so the time to continue working around the torch was limited to 15 minutes.

A city volunteer woman said, "It's a heat I've never experienced, but it feels cool because the hat I'm wearing allows air to pass through. I hope I can get in shape and have fun."
