With 15 seconds left in the match, the score was 8-5 to the Russian and Johansson managed to pick up points - but not enough and Ovtjarova won 8-7.

Henna Johansson says that she should have started the match in a different way.

- I think that my tactics did not really work with having the first period stable and then driving.

She probably thought the same thing and it collided a bit today.

- With the result in hand, I would have driven on from the beginning because I had a lot of power left there, says Henna Johansson.

Third straight exit

Johansson has wrestled at the top of the world for twelve years.

This was her third Olympics and she went out in the same way as in the previous ones - a loss in the qualifiers, just before the medal matches.

- It feels boring, it's my third Olympics and everyone has ended exactly the same.

That's my curse.

In the Olympics in Rio 2016, Johansson was also eliminated after three matches and ended up in tenth place.

She also finished tenth in London.

The outing in Tokyo is heavier.

- Absolutely, because I know that I am much better and have better fluency in my wrestling.

I win extremely many more matches than I lose.

It's sad that it never falls right here, she says.

The 30-year-old is now considering betting on the next Olympics in Paris 2024.

- I really want an Olympic medal, that's the only thing I miss.

No Swedish medals

The gold jumper Alex Kessidis was knocked out earlier this week in his Olympic debut and now all hope is on Sofia Mattsson, who will step into the games in the 53-kilo class on Thursday.

- We can only hope that she takes a medal, so I can enjoy it a bit too, says Johansson about Mattsson, who took Olympic bronze in Rio 2016.

The small, small consolation is that the Swede can now enjoy the food in the Olympic village.

- I have heard that sushi is good and then some pizza as well.
