On the 3rd, the men's 1000-meter double rowing final of the still water kayaking in the Tokyo Olympics was fiercely. Chinese players Liu Hao and Zheng Pengfei were struggling to sprint.

The bronze complexion and strong muscles make Liu Hao seem to be wearing "steel armor."

At this time, in the Yuxi Sports School in Yunnan, China, Liu Hao's wife Qin Lizhi and their enlightenment coach Wan Fuling clenched their fists in front of the big screen to cheer for Liu Hao.

In the end, Liu Hao and Zheng Pengfei won the silver medal in the project.

Wan Fuling also breathed a sigh of relief, "I have never worried about Liu Hao's game. He has a very strong adaptability and can reasonably distribute his physical strength according to the situation on the field. He is an excellent oarsman."

In 1993, Liu Hao was born in an ordinary family in Yuxi City.

When he was a child, Liu Hao was naughty and active, and when he grew up he became a man in the school.

In 2007, Liu Hao, who loves sports, was selected to train for the canoeing team of Yuxi Sports School.

Wan Fuling recalled that when training at the grassroots level, Liu Hao's characteristics of being assiduous and pragmatic, diligent and hardworking had already emerged.

"He was young at the time, and his physical condition was not the best among the same batch of kayaking teams, but with his own efforts, the improvement in training results was outstanding."

A year later, Liu Hao, who performed well, was recommended to Wuhan Institute of Physical Education for special training.

In 2010, Liu Hao entered the Yunnan Province Kayak Team.

In the 2013 National Games, Liu Hao, the youngest of the finalists, won the fourth place in the men's 1000-meter rowing boat.

Despite the missed medal, the achievement not only created the history of Yunnan, but also the kayaking event was preserved.

In 2014, Liu Hao, with great potential, entered the national kayaking team. He has been more and more courageous in various competitions.

In 2014, Liu Hao won the runner-up in the 1,000-meter four-man rowing boat in the Czech Republic of the Kayak World Cup.

In 2015, he participated in the national championship and won two gold medals in the men's single rowing 1000m and men's single rowing 500m.

However, injuries are one of the important reasons that restrict the upward development of athletes. Many athletes have not been able to return to the field after the torture of injuries.

For Liu Hao, two sudden illnesses made his sports career tortuous.

During the 2016 Rio Olympic trials, Liu Hao suffered from appendicitis, and he missed the opportunity to pass the Olympic Games.

In the winter of 2017, Liu Hao suffered a meningitis, and his condition was so fierce that he could only stop and receive treatment.

His wife Qin Lizhi, who was also a kayaker, recalled that Liu Hao still chose to persevere despite his injuries due to his love for kayaking and his firm belief.

"He said at the time,'I am doing a career that I like and love. I am very happy. I will definitely persevere, and I will persevere!'" Qin Lizhi is still impressed by this sentence.

In order to return to the field as soon as possible, Liu Hao, who recovered from the injury, started racing against time and devoted himself to the "devil training".

Perseverance in the face of adversity allowed Liu Hao to win the men's double rowing 1000m champion and singles 1000m runner-up at the 2017 National Games in one fell swoop.

Since then, Liu Hao has successively won 2 gold medals in the Kayak World Cup, 2 gold medals in the Kayak World Championships, and 1 gold medal in the National Kayak Stillwater Championships.

Behind these achievements are the countless hardships and sweat of Liu Hao.

"All these years of hard training have greatly improved Liu Hao's technique and physical fitness. Taking every step steadily on the Olympic stage, I believe he will realize his dream." Qin Lizhi said.

On August 6, the men's 1000-meter single rowing kayak in still water will start soon. Liu Hao will take today's results and continue to make an impact on the Olympic gold medal.
