Late on Monday evening, Sjöström landed together with Simon Pettersson and Daniel Ståhl in Stockholm.

- It feels great.

It's nice to be home.

It was fun to be in Japan but it's nice to come home too, says Sarah Sjöström to SVT Sport.

She made it to the finals in all the disciplines she competed in during the Olympics in Tokyo.

And finally, in the 50 meters freestyle, she also took a medal.

Even though she was on the operating table only five months ago with a broken elbow.

According to Sjöström, the injury has not only been something negative.

- It has helped me.

I have done a different type of training, there was more focus on leg strength and a lot of cycling intervals.

I think it helped me to give an extra small leg kick at the end of the race.

It feels incredibly fun that I can get back to this level.

"Be quite nervous"

Something that also helped her to the Olympic silver was to see Simon Pettersson and Daniel Ståhl take their medals just twelve hours before the 50 meter freestyle final.

- I was really tagged.

I was quite nervous about my own performance but when I got to watch them it gave a different kind of energy.

The silver in the 50 meter freestyle was Sjöström's fourth Olympic medal.

During the Olympics in Rio, she took a gold (100 m butterfly), a silver (200 m freestyle) and a bronze (100 m freestyle).

- I think this Olympics would have been successful with or without a medal. That I manage to take my fourth Olympic medal, I am incredibly proud and grateful for.
