Gymnastics superstar Simone Biles won the bronze medal in the balance beam final at the Tokyo Games on Tuesday, behind China's Guan Chenchen who becomes Olympic champion and succeeds the American.

Stopped for a week, Biles, four-time Olympic champion in Rio, obtained the score of 14,000 points with a simplified exercise on the beam.

She was beaten by the Chinese Chenchen Guan with 14.633 points and Tang Xijing (14.233 pts).

She thus left Tokyo with two medals, the sixth and seventh of her career: the silver one in the team competition and this one on the beam, far from the record that everyone had lent her for months.

The star expected of the Games, plagued by a loss of confidence and faced with a phenomenon of loss of landmarks in space ("loss of figure" or twisties), had given up in full final of the all-around team, to the amazement general, then waived four finals (all-around, vault, floor, bars).
