Haram Woo (23, National Sports Promotion Agency), the 'signboard of Korean diving' unfortunately failed to win the first Olympic medal, but achieved the best performance ever.

In the men's 3m springboard final in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics diving held at the Tokyo Aquatics Center in Japan on the afternoon of the 3rd, Haram Woo scored a total of 481.85 points in the 6th time and placed 4th out of 12 athletes.

In fourth place, Haram Woo surpassed the 11th place recorded on the men's 10m platform at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games, which is the highest Olympic record in Korean diving history.

Korean diving has competed in the Olympics since 1960 in Rome, but no athlete has yet won a medal.

Haram Woo, who took 5th place out of 29 with a total of 452.45 points in the preliminary round the day before, narrowly advanced to the final with 403.15 points in the semifinals of 18 people on the morning of that day.

This was the second time for a Korean diver to make it through the preliminary round to the Olympic final.

Previously, Haram Woo ranked 11th in the final rankings after reaching the semifinals and finals for the first time in history as a Korean diver on the men's 10m platform in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
