Kazuma Tomoto, who participated in the Olympic Games for the first time in the Tokyo Olympics and equestrian eventing, won the 4th place.

It is the first time in 89 years that a Japanese player has won a prize in an individual equestrian event since Takeichi Nishi, who won the gold medal at the 1932 Los Angeles Games.

Eventing is a competition for the total strength of the three types of dressage, cross-country skiing, and show jumping, and competes for ranking with few points deducted.

On the 2nd, the last event of show jumping was held at Equestrian Park in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo.

Tomoto, who was in 5th place after finishing the second cross-country skiing, dropped one obstacle in the show jumping qualifying held on the 2nd and was deducted 4 points to retreat to 7th place.

Even so, in the final held by the top 25 players, although there was a slight deduction that exceeded the time limit, he showed a ride that jumped over all obstacles without mistakes and achieved a deduction of 31.9 and finished 4th.

Japanese athletes have won equestrian prizes since the 1996 Atlanta Games, which finished 6th in the team eventing, and Takeichi Nishi, who won the gold medal at the 1932 Los Angeles Games, won the prize in individual events. It's been 89 years since then.

Among other Japanese players, Yuki Tanaka did not advance to the final of show jumping and ranked 34th, and Yoshiaki Oiwa fell in the cross-country skiing and was disqualified.

The gold medal was won by Julia Krajewski of Germany, the silver medal was Tom McEwen of England, and the bronze medal was Andrew Hoy of Australia.
