Annemiek Bekkering and Annette Duetz have to wait an extra day for their medal race in the 49er FX class.

All sailing competitions from Monday at the Olympics have been moved to Tuesday due to a lack of wind.

The start of the sailing program has been continuously postponed in the hope that the wind would still pick up in Tokyo Bay, but the weather conditions remained too unfavorable to hold the races.

Bekkering and Duetz have a chance to win the fifth Dutch gold medal of these Games.

With only the final medal race to go, the duo takes the lead in the 49er FX standings.

Furthermore, the Dutch couples Afrodite Zegers/Lobke Berkhout (race 9 and 10 in the 470 class) and Bart Lambriex/Pim van Vugt (medal race in the 49er class) would also be in action on Monday.

They too now have to wait a day.

So far, the Netherlands has won two medals in sailing.

Windsurfer Kiran Badloe became Olympic champion and Marit Bouwmeester took bronze in the Laser Radial class.
