It was a close match, but in the end the Swedish wrestler Alex Kessidis was the loser in his Olympic debut in Tokyo.

Kessidis took the first point against Rafig Huseynov, Azerbaijan, but the match in the 77-kilo class ended 1-1.

With Huseynov taking the last point, he was the winner.

26-year-old Kessidis can now hope that Huseynov goes to the final.

In that case, the Swede may qualify again and has a chance to pinch the bronze medal.

In 2019, Alex Kessidi took World Cup silver in the 77-kilo class.
